ROMANIA – BULGARIA TOUR

Welcome to the Balkans! Take your time to discover two capitals of the Balkan Peninsula, with their different heritage. Drive along teh Black Sea coast with its fine sand beaches. Then go inland and visit the cultural city of Plovdiv. Taste the cuisine, sip the wines and enjoy the music, for you are in the right place!

1 Day ARRIVAL IN BUCHAREST

Today you will arrive in Bucharest, the Romanian capital, settled around a few old villages and first stated in documents by Vlad the Impaler in the end of the 15th century. This city preserves a great mixture of Byzantine, Oriental and Western elements that make any holiday here challenging and enticing. Transfer to the hotel from Bucharest OTP Airport or from Bucharest BBU Airport (according to the flight). Accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.

2 Day BUCHAREST – IT MUST NOT BE MONDAY OR TUESDAY

Breakfast. Today you will have a half day city tour, including a panoramic tour (by bus), a walk in the Old Quarter, and visit to the one of the following: the Royal Palace (hosting the National Art Gallery), the Palace of the Parliament, or the Village Museum – an open air museum consisting of traditional houses brought here from all over the country. Dinner and overnight.

3 Day BUCHAREST- CONSTANTA- MAMAIA

Breakfast. Today you will go straight to the coast of the Black Sea. After a brief stop in Constanta for a short tour of the Peninsular Quarter, you will go to nearby Mamaia Resort, to enjoy half a day on the beach. Accommodation in Mamaia. Dinner at the hotel or in a restaurant nearby. Overnight.

4 Day MAMAIA-MANGALIA-VAMA VECHE RO-DURANKULAK BG – VARNA

Breakfast. Following the road which goes along the beach and crossing several resorts in both Romania and Bulgaria. Arrival in Varna, the sea capital of Bulgaria. Varna sightseeing, including visit of Roman Thermae built in II century and one of the symbols of the town – The Cathedral of the Virgin Mary. Accommodation, dinner and overnight.

5 Day VARNA-NESSEBAR (Burgas) – PLOVDIV

Breakfast and check-out. Drive to Nessebar for visiting his historical city center, included in the list of UNESCO. Proceed to the city of Plovdiv. Accommodation in Plovdiv. Dinner in a folk-style restaurant with programme. Overnight.

6 Day PLOVDIV- SOFIA

After breakfast in the hotel, departure to Bachkovo, where the famous monastery will be visited. In the afternoon return to Plovdiv. Guided tour of Plovdiv, including visit of the Old city. The three hills of Plovdiv are prominent features on the Thracian plain, indicate its strategic significance and account for its long tradition as an inhabited place. Here Thracians, Romans, Byzantines, Ottoman Turks and Bulgarians have all made an architectural impression. Departure to the capital of Bulgaria. Accommodation, dinner and overnight in Sofia.

7 Day SOFIA-BUCHAREST

Breakfast. Full day Sofia sightseeing, including Alexander Nevski Cathedral, The National Theatre and the Palace of Culture. Visit to The Boyana Church and National Historical Museum. Dinner and overnight.

8 Day SOFIA-BUCHAREST

Breakfast. Leaving Sofia in the morning, you will cross the Balkan Mountains en route to the Danube. After crossing the river on a long steel bridge, you willreach Bucharest again, for your farewell dinner. Accommodation and overnight.

9 Day BUCHAREST- back at home

Breakfast. Check-out. Transfer from the hotel to Bucharest OTP Airport or from Bucharest BBU Airport (according to the flight).
