Day 1 SOFIA
Meet and assist at the airport. Bus transfer Airport – Hotel. Sofia city tour, depending on arrival time. Accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.
Note: Depending of the flight details, part of the programme of sightseeing of Sofia could be distribute in the first or in the last day, aiming improvement of the programme.
Day 2 SOFIA – RILA MONASTERY – BOROVETS RESORT
After breakfast departure to the Rila Monastery, the largest in the country and most frequently visited by Bulgarian and foreign tourists as both cultural and historical monument. The original, very precious icons and the picture gallery allow the visitors a broader and richer view on the historical and cultural heritage of centuries-old Bulgaria. Rila Monastery is included in the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage. Departure to Plovdiv Bulgarian second largest city. Lunch in Borovets Mountain Resort. Arrival in Plovdiv. Accommodation, dinner in folk style restaurant with programme and overnight.
Day 3 PLOVDIV- BACHKOVO MONASTERY – PLOVDIV
After breakfast in the hotel, departure to Bachkovo, where the famous monastery will be visited. Lunch. In the afternoon return to Plovdiv. Guided tour of Plovdiv, including visit of the Old city. The three hills of Plovdiv are prominent features on the Thracian plain, indicate its strategic significance and account for its long tradition as an inhabited place. Here Thracians, Romans, Byzantines, Ottoman Turks and Bulgarians have all made an architectural impression. Dinner in the hotel. Overnight.
Day 4 PLOVDIV – PERPERIKO – HASKOVO – STARA ZAGORA
Early morning after breakfast departure for Perperikon, near the town of Kurdzhali. Perperikon is a medieval fortress built in the place of an ancient Thracian sanctuary, related to the cult towards the Thracian equivalence of the Greek god of wine and feasts, Dionysius. Lunch in Haskovo. Visit of Starozagorski mineralni bani is a national resort complex on a 10 km. from Stara Zagora. Accommodation, dinner and overnight in Stara Zagora.
Day 5 STARA ZAGORA – SOZOPOL
Breakfast in the hotel and check – out. Drive to Sozopol, the oldest of Bulgaria’s coastal towns. Lunch in Sozopol and city tour. Accommodation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6 SOZOPOL – NESSEBAR – VARNA
After breakfast drive to Nessebar, for visiting his historical city center, included in the list of UNESCO. Lunch in Nessebar and continue to Varna, the sea capital of Bulgaria. Accommodation in the hotel, free time, dinner and overnight.
Day 7 VARNA- PLISKA – PRESLAV – VELIKO TARNOVO
After breakfast, Varna sight-seeing. Departure to Pliska (the first Capital – after 681-893 – of the First Bulgarian Kingdom) and Veliki Preslav (The Great Preslav) – the second Capital of the First Bulgarian Kingdom at Tzar Simeon (893-927). Lunch. Arrival in Veliko Tarnovo. Accommodation in the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 8 VELIKO TARNOVO – ARBANASSI – ETARA – TRYAVNA
Breakfast. Guided tour of Veliko Tarnovo with Medieval fortifications of Tsarevets, museum village of Arbanassi – The Nativity Chirch with amazing frescos from XVI and XVII century. Lunch. In the afternoon drive to Etara-reservat. Arrival in Tryavna. Accommodation, dinner and overnight.
Day 9 TRYAVNA – KAZANLAK – KOPRIVSHTITSA
After Breakfast, walk in the beautiful city center of Tryavna. Departure to Kazanlak. Visit to the Museum of the rose. The Bulgarian oleaginous rose has gained fame throughout the world from times immemorial for its unique fragrance and the rose oil of best quality. Visit of the Thracian tomb (4th c. BC) – UNESCO site. Lunch in a restaurant. After that departure to Koprivshtitsa, city-museum situated in the picturesque Sredna Gora, hier the authentic look from the period of The Revival ( VII and XIX ) is preserved. More than 200 houses are culture monuments. Koprivshtitsa has been the center of a very important event of bulgarian history (Aprilsko Vustanie). Tour in Koprivshtitsa. Departure back to Sofia, accommodation and dinner in the hotel.
Day 10 SOFIA – SOFIA AIRPORT
Breakfast, check-out and transfer to the airport for departure flight.
