1 Day SOFIA AIRPORT
Arrival in Sofia. English-speaking guide meets the group at the airport. Transfer to a hotel. City tour of Sofia including St. Nedelya Sq., St George Rotunda (4th c.), the Presidential Office Building, the National Theatre, the City Garden, Russian Church St. Nicolas, the Parliament Square, the St. Alexander Nevski Memorial Cathedral, St. Sofia Church (6th c) Dinner and Overnight in Sofia. 2 Day SOFIA – KARLOVO
Breakfast. Departure to Koprivshtitza town, situated in the heart of the Sredna Gora Mountain Range. Tour in the town famous for the numerous museums, old stone bridges and walls, wooden yard gates, more than 120-year-old buildings and courtyards in their original colours. Then departure for Kalofer. Visit Kaloferska House where the tourists will see the exhibition including an antique loom. There visitors can try their hand at weaving a traditional carpet, traditional dress and festival costumes, tools and musical instruments / Kalofer bag pipe/. Proceed to Karlovo for overnight.
3 Day KARLOVO – PLOVDIV
Breakfast and Short tour of Karlovo including the ethnographic museum in the old part of the town where there is an exhibition of some authentic costumes and masks. Visit „Suchurum“ waterfall and lunch nearby. During the lunch you will enjoy the unique folklore performance „Kukeri“- men dressed with carnival costumes always with masks on their face who dance ritually to frighten the evil force or to welcome the fruitfulness of the nature. During the performance you will be introduced with the symbolic of the ritual. After lunch continue Plovdiv. Upon arrival tour of the Old Town of Plovdiv – an imposing open-air museum, situated on the three hills of the ancient Trimontium. Visit to the Ancient Theatre (a well-preserved Roman amphitheatre), the Ethnographic Museum, and some other interesting sites. Overnight in Plovdiv.
4 Day PLOVDIV – BANSKO
Breakfast.. Departure for Dobarsko village. Upon arrival meeting the tourists with a folklore demonstration in the old church yard: singing songs and dancing horo (a round dance), presentation of traditional customs by „The Grannies of Dobar“. Lunch with Tasting local dishes: baniza (cheese pastry), homemade milk and cheese. After lunch proceed to Bansko. Accommodation in a hotel. Dinner in a traditional local restaurant where the tourists will enjoy the unique authentic performance of folklore group. Overnight in Bansko
5 Day BANSKO – SOFIA
Breakfast. Morning departure for the Rila Monastery through Melnik – the most famous and the most fascinating monastery in Bulgaria, under UNESCO protection. Tour of the monastery and visit to the monastery church, museum, and kitchen, known as Magernitsa. Lunch and drive to Sofia for Overnight
